The lights dropped and the intro music hit, and after a few moments the curtain dropped and Mudvayne broke into their hit “Dig”. After playing some festival shows and headlining a few of their own shows, the band hooked up with Rob Zombie for the 2022 Freaks on Parade tour. The band split in 2009 but reunited in the fall of 2021 to begin touring again. From 1996 to 2009, the band recorded 3 EPs and 5 Albums with tons of touring in between. Mudvayne was formed in 1996 in Peoria, IL, which made this show almost a homecoming of sorts. So, if the insanely hot temperatures didn’t melt your face off, the music surely did.
The co-headliners were Rob Zombie and Mudvayne, with Static X and Powerman 5000 in support. A hot and humid night in Tinley Park, Il made for the perfect setting for the “Freaks on Parade Tour” to land at the Hollywood Casino Amphitheater.
